Microsoft Word 2002 SP3 doesn't start - no error message

Hi,
Sunday I have still worked with Word, writing some letters.
I shut down the computer normally and didn't install any updates or
programs.
Next thing on Monday morning I know is WORD wouldn't start anymore.
In the TASK-Manager you can see that WINWORD.EXE appears, but after
approx. one minute disappears again.
No error message is popping up, not even the Start screen from Word.

I have done a complete virus scan with the newest update.
I have erased all temp. files
I tried to start winword.exe with the extensions /r and /a

Has someone ever experienced some error like that or has an idea would
could cause not starting Word?

Try doing a registry scan, s.a. with Registry Mechanic (just check any of the
varioius programs in www.cnet.com)... that should fix a possibly messed up
link.
