Microsoft Word 2002

I have Word 2002 and I cannot get it to insert a picture or clipart directly into an autoshape or wordart. Is there something missing from y Word 2002? How can I fix this?

Autoshapes and clip art are separate graphic elements. You can't necessarily
insert one into the other. You could use a picture as a fill for an
autoshape, but it would help if you explained what you are trying to
achieve.

Select the AutoShape or WordArt object and click on the arrow beside the
Fill Color button on the Drawing toolbar. On the menu, choose Fill
Effects... In the Fill Effects dialog, select the Picture tab, then navigate
to your desired graphic. Note that unless the aspect ratio of the picture is
the same as that of the AutoShape or WordArt object, it will be distorted
(Word will stretch it rather than crop it).

That is so cool! I'm going to find some excuses to do it
now. If a future Word version cropped too - whadda feature!

Learned that in the Publisher NG. Can't believe I didn't discover it long
ago (would have saved me a *lot* of work!).
