Microsoft Word 2003 Encounters Problems

Every time I open Outlook or Word, this message pops up:
"Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and must close"
In tracking this to the Event Viewer in Computer
Management, it refers to:
winword.exe, version 11.0.6113.0, stamp 40077019
faulting module msvcrt.dll
version 7.0.2600.1106, stamp 3d6dfa27
debug? 0
fault address 0x00033ec0.
I have uninstalled Office completely and reinstalled and
it still continues. Any guidance as to what is causing
this and what may be a remedy. Thanks.
