Microsoft Word 2003 Freezes up, flashes orange on taskbar

Anyone else ever have this problem? Word will freeze for quite some time
(minutes usually) and flash orange on the taskbar, and the top of the open
Word window will flash alternating with the orange at the bottom. Anyone
else have this problem? It seems to happen more and more recently, and it
seems to be completely at random. Almost like its trying to access something
and it finally does and works. Any fixes or known issues with this? Thanks
in advance!

If you're using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the
Office Plugin that comes with it. See

we use norton anti-virus corporate here in the office. I guess thats the
same thing?

Almost the same thing. Symantec/Norton Corporate Edition does
not have an Office Plugin, but the Office Plugin may be a
leftover from a previous version of Norton Antivirus. Search the
hard drive for a file named OFFICEAV.DLL (be sure to include
system and hidden files and folders in the search options). If
you find it, use the REGSVR32 /U method described in KB329820 to
unregister the dll.
