Microsoft Word 2007 crashes whenever I save

I can open documents, and type, but as soon as I click, save or save as, the
program stops responding. It was working fine up until a couple of days ago,
and I really need it to start working again. I have run a virus scan, and
uninstalled microsoft office, then re-installed it? How can I fix this?
