Microsoft Word 2007 fails to start

I have tried at least 4 times today to get word up an running and it would
only start up and go through a recovery mode and then suggest it had to close
so I then ran diagnostics and said everything was ok.

I tried shortly again to start the programme and it started no trouble but
this is annoying and happens at least once a day!!!

I try first to start by going thru the programme menu and then also tried
double clicking on the word document and got the same issue

I also closed down Outlook as well.

What happened to the 2003 office recovery programme which does not seem to
exist.

I have office standard package for Vista and yes it is running on Vista.
