Hi "Pipster",

what happens if you start Word in safe mode (hold Ctrl as
Word is opening, and click Yes to starting in safe mode)?

Here is how I run word in safe mode:

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. In the runbox type: winword /safe
4. Click OK or press Enter
5. Word will open with (Safe Mode) in the title bar

Start Excel 2007 in Safe Mode:

If Excel does not start as expected, follow these steps to start Excel in
Safe Mode.
1.Click Start, click Run, click Browse, and then locate the folder in
which Excel 2007 is installed.

Note By default, the Excel.exe file is in the following location:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12

2.After you locate the Excel.exe file, click the file, and then click
Open.

3.In the Open box, type a space at the end of the path, and then type
/s. The path should resemble the following:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Excel.exe" /s

4.In the Run dialog box, click OK to start Excel 2007.

Do the same document still open slowly?

Thank you,

Saravanan
