microsoft word error when sending message in outlook using DL

Windows XP pro
Created A Distribution list some months back from the contacts in Outlook.
It has been working fine until today. Comes up with microsoft office word
window with the error "An unexpected error has occured" with the OK button.
It has nothing else on the error message and the email does not go out. Have
went into the contacts folder and deleted the old DL and recreated it and
still same error. Can send message if select individuals from contact list.
Went into the tools, options, mail format tab and unchecked the box use
microsoft office word 2003 to edit email messages. Still same error.

Explain more about this error message window. Word would not be in play here
at all.
DL's stop working all the time, so there's nothing unusual about that. It
usually means one of your electronic addresses in the DL is corrupt, which
of course would persist even if you recreated the DL.

I have recreated the error and have a screen shot. Don't see how to attach
anything here. First it is a shared distribution list. Second if the user
goes into the contacts and renames the list, IT WORKS. My user just renamed
it from "old name group" to "old name Report group" and it worked. Third now
it comes up with the header as "Microsoft Office Outlook" instead of
"Microsoft Office Word" the rest is still the same. A yellow triangle with an
exclamaton point in it, With the words "An unexpected error has occured."
with an OK button. I do not know how else to explain it.
