Hello all,
Please refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832897/en-us for information
on what I am talking about (if needed)
Anyway, it turns out that Word versions after (and including) 2002 took out
the ability for Word to automatically update the FILENAME field on a document
to "speed up the opening of the document" - now this is all well and good but
surely they could have left the option in there somewhere as a tick-box?
Using the above link I have created the Macro to automatically update the
FILENAME field on our documents but all of our machines have their Macro
Security set to HIGH which means I will have to visit 100+ machines to set it
to MEDIUM. Once set to MEDIUM, when the document is opened, you still
receive a Macro security warning box which is annoying. I could set Macro
security to LOW but I don not want to compromise security mroe than I have to.
So, my questions are these:
Does anyone know of a Registry Fix to get around the FILENAME auto-update
problem I describe?
Does anyone know if a Macro can be used to set the Macro security to LOW
automatically so my document runs without any required user-interaction.
Does anyone know of another way to get my documents to auto-update the
FILENAME field code without using Macros?
