Microsoft Word for Mac, I bar appearance

J

Jack Michael

When I am using word X for mac sometimes my insertion I bar has a
small plus sign immediately to the left of the I bar, and sometimes it
does not. I would like to know what that I bar with the plus sign
means, why it occurs, what makes it come on and what makes it go off.
Thanks.

That's the cursor you get when you use the format brush tool. Word
has in the past had a bug in which Word gets confused about cursors
and they don't change back on their own. Fortunately it's usually
annoying rather than a real problem. When it happens, you may be
able to convert it back just by clicking on the Format brush, then
hitting Escape.

Make sure you've applied the 10.1.2, 10.1.4 and 10.1.5 updaters
found at

MacTopia Downloads:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx

If after doing that you can reliably reproduce the problem, send
feedback via the Help/Send Feedback on Word menu, or post back here.
