microsoft word for mac

i've been running word for mac successfully for one year with no
problem. suddenly it is crashing non stop to the point of un -
useability. can anyone advise me where i should start inorder to solve
this problem.

thanks for the troubleshooting link. it helped me to work out it was a
case of a corrupted word file.
i'm running os panther 3.1 and wordX 10.1.1.

Should i upgrade to the latest version of wordX if i'm still on panther
version 1 ? or could this cause me problems?
