Microsoft Word Office: v.X

S

I can't open any files in Word - the message is: Not Enough File Space
to open disk. I have cleaned off my hard drive (have 38 GB of space),
have no other applications open and still get this message. Excel works
(can open multiple files) as does Entourage.

It happened slowly - I could only have a few open at a time, then fewer
and fewer and fewer until now I can only open a blank document - one at
a time.

I also purchased this software by download and although I have my
serial number, I can't remember where I bought it. The receipt is in my
taxes folder, but who wants to dig through that?

Any help will be a big help.

Thanks.

Are you sure you purchased it by download? I didn't think anywhere offered
it via download?

Anyhow, work through the standard troubleshooting tips listed here:
http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/TroubleshootingIndex.htm
(hit refresh a few times in Safari, or use a different browser)

Alternatively, test it in a new user account. If the new account works,
switch over to it. If you don't want to switch over, go back to the
troubleshooting tips and try to find one that works. If the new user account
doesn't work, go straight to the instructions for Remove and Reinstall.

Oh, wait, you'll need the CD for Remove and Reinstall, but you bought it by
download?

Hi Sharon:

My first thought is that you are out of space in your system temporary
folder (which is hidden, you can't see it or access it). While there is
plenty of space where you want to put the document, there's no space where
Word wants to writ its temporary files while the document is open.

Try a reboot of the computer: that should clean out the Temp file. If you
are on a network, speak to the network administrator.

If you have your Product Licence Key you have all you need. But this
problem will NOT be cured by reinstalling Office :) If you get desperate,
create a new user ID on the computer: that will likely cure the problem, but
I am puzzled as to why it has occurred.

Cheers
