microsoft word program disappeared

I did a major recovery of my computer after it all but shut down from my teen
downloading ridiculous amount of crap. When the restoration was completed,
my Microsoft Word 2003 program had disappeared. How do I get it back, I do
have a series of program disc that I bought with the computer.

The most likely cause is that you've only lost the shortcut. Look in the
folder C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11. If you find the file
WinWord.exe, right-click it and choose Send To > Desktop (create shortcut).

If the file isn't there, use Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs to repair
the Office installation. It may or may not request the program disk.

I am not sure what you mean by "major recovery", but if it amounted to a
re-format of the hard disk, then you will need to re-install the software
from the disks that you bought with the computer.
