Microsoft Word - Replacing Text

S

Susan Aumaier

I have one of the two newer versions of Word (may be XP, but I'm not
sure).

Anyhow, always in the past (no matter what version of Word I was
using) when I highlighted information, then started typing new
information, the old information would automatically be replaced.
Now, however, it just inserts the new information in front of the old
information. This started happening suddenly, without me doing
anything to change it (to my knowledge), and it has nothing to do with
the Insert/Delete key.

Any ideas on how I can change it back?

Thanks in advance to all who respond.

Go to Tools....Options....Edit. Check "typing replaces selection"
