Microsoft Word very slow to open, then not responding

I use Mcrosoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 but I have never updated it.

I logged on today to look for updates and the update failed.

Hi Joyce,
Have you had any feedback on this problem? I have the same issue on this
site, takes an age to open word docs but does eventually open. We think it
was down to updates but cant pinpoint it.
