Can anyone tell me why I can no long highlight text and copy it and paste it
with out selecting the entire document? The only way I can move the cursor in
the document is by using the arrow keys. I am using Vista and have Microsoft
Word 2007 installed. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like a corrupt DataKey. Run Regedit and delete the following key.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\version number\Word\Data

Hello again. this seemed to fix the problem. Thanks so much! I am wondering
now though, has this file been there all along? if so why did it just start
giving me problems? If not, where did it come from and am I going to have
problems again down the road? Thanks again.

The DataKey is part of the Office Registry settings. It keeps many user
options, customisations and galleries for the user. Sometimes - not often -
this becomes corrupt. It is suspected that third party add-ins are the
cause, but often it is impossible to find out why it happens.

I would not advise doing anything in the registry without assurance from
someone knowledgeable/experienced with the problems you are experiencing.
The registry is a critical component of Windows and an incorrect change may
make you computer unstable or even unusable without a complete
reinstallation.

Hoah! This tip just saved my butt. When the problem is a reg key, it seems
that no amount or method of un-installing will un-install the corrupted key.
It worked! Thank you!
