Microsoft Works to Office Small Business

Hi, I have read all I can here on different posts, and have tried it all, but
can't seem to get this to work. I have just purchased a new desktop - hp -
with software preloaded. No discs in box. I have a laptop for which i had
bought MS Small Business. I want to now install that on the desktop (I am
allowed aren't I) but it is not recognizing the Works program that is on the
desktop. I have downloaded the fix for Works, but then it asks for the Works
installation cd....don't have that. I am lost...please help me out....Thanks

I believe you're supposed to get free installation support from Microsoft.
Have you called them?

If you are using an UPgrade version of Office that PREdates the version
of Works that you have, then it won't qualify as it can't recognize it.
