Microsoft's version of Visio is CRAPPY!

I hate to say this, but the new version of Visio is NOT USER FRIENDLY! Try
inserting text into a table, it is very difficult to get into the cell to
enter text, double clicking normally allows you to enter text in ANY object,
but now you either have to right click and select enter text...or double
click and most of the time double clicking just highlights that portion of
the table cell - it does NOT OPEN IT FOR EDITING!!!!

After selecting the table with the pointer, Click the text tool on the tool
bar (a capital A) and then click in the cell you want to edit. Click the
Pointer tool (the arrow on the tool bar) to exit the text tool.

I don't like it either, but we're stuck with it for now. I think it should
be more context-sensitive, and open the cell you double-click on. I'm
turning that in as a suggestion for the next version.

Yeah, it should be a LOT more intuitive for the user, what you suggest is a
LOT more work than a simple click or double click. Like I said, I got
around the crummy tables in Visio by creating exactly what I needed in
Excel, highlighting the portion of the table in Excel, pasting it into
Paint, and then copying it into Visio as a graphic. It sounds like as much
work as the table in Visio, but in fact it is quite simple, you just have to
copy & paste it twice. Thanks for the suggestion though - Microsoft REALLY
MUST FIX Visio!!!

Coleen, you could copy from Excel and paste special as a picture in Visio.
Why do you go one extra step?

I don't want a "Picture" I could copy the selection directly from Excel and
paste it into Visio, and have done so, but some of the tables are split, and
I don't want the lines to show between them. Then I paste it into Paint,
erase any extra lines and paste it into Visio.

OK, hide the grid lines in Excel. Tools, Options, View, grid lines.

Would that help? Just a thought, I am not critisizing.
