Microsot Word 2008 moves between OS X 10.5 Spaces by itself

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

One minute Word and the Formatting Palette will be in Space 1, and then Word will move itself to Space 2. Word also becomes 'detached' from the Formatting Palette which stays in Space 1

Thanks for any response to this widely noted issue.

Please disregard - I see there has been a lot of discussion on this already and there is no resolution as yet.

It is a VERY annoying bug that hasn't been fixed as of today. The
problem is linked to the formatting palette indeed. With the palette
inactive, you never have any problem. No other solution but not to use
the palette at this point as far as I know.

Hey Corentin

Thanks for the fast response and the knowledge _ I can live with that workaround for a while.

Appreciated

On my MacBook, Word moves itself to other spaces without the Formatting palette active. It is not very well behaved.

Yes. Word 2008 is not compatible with Spaces.

This is unlikely to ever be fixed in the 2008 version: Spaces was invented
after the design for 2008 was fixed.

We hope it will be fixed in Word 2010.
