I'm considering migrating from Outlook Express 6 to Outlook 2003. I
have a complex and large OE folder configuration. My OE6 has roughly
forty top level folders (with a multitude of subfolders) in my Folder
list stored in more than 500 DBXs containing about 4.5 GB of e-mails.
My primary reason for migrating is that the OE Find function has a
built-in random result feature. When I run the same search three times
in a row it will more often than not return three different result
sets. (This is true even after compacting all my OE folders.) I'm
hoping the Outlook 2003 has a more robust and predictable Find or
Search function.
up with about forty physical PSTs. I plan to create them in the
Unicode format.
I've been unable to find answers to the following question and I'm
hoping folks here will be able to help me:
+ Will Outlook 2003's Find/Search function automatically search across
multiple PSTs?
+ Is Outlook 2003's Find/Search function more robust than the Outlook
Express Find function?
+ Assuming I use Outlook Express's Export function to selectively
export folders a group at a time, will Outlook 2003 allow me to import
them into specific PSTs that I've prepared?
+ I understand that my Outlook Express message rules won't be
converted automatically. No problem. In Outlook 2003 can I easily
create message rules that process incoming e-mails and store them into
folders that exist in other than my default PST?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
