Migrating auto-archive folder

I have been using Outlook / Exchange Server in an all-Windows environment for a good many years and have always used the auto-archive function in order to keep the size of my mailbox under control.

I have now started using a Mac with Entourage 2008 and most things seem to be fine - I'm particularly impressed with the option of linking to the Outlook Web Access server so that I can use Entourage anywhere I have an internet connection.

However, I can't see any means of either accessing my old archive.pst file or of an equivalent to auto-archive that will automatically transfer items to an archive (or delete them) based on age criteria.

As a complete newbie to both Entourage and to Macs generally, I could be missing something completely obvious, so apologies if this is the case.

Regards, Brian

First, don't expect Entourage to be like Outlook. :)

Entourage can do nothing with .PST files. You can get them into Entourage
and use Spotlight to search them. Check out the options on the "Convert Mail
from Windows to Mac" Page:

This script will help.....AutoArchive Exchange Account to "On My Computer"

Move all e-mail older than 60 days (time is adjustable) from your Exchange
account folders to archive folders within the "On My Computer" folder tree.

Diane - many thanks for providing a very helpful answer.

It's difficult not to regard Entourage as being just a Mac version of Outlook given the way that it is positioned and the core functionality it provides. But I guess it is the differences that make life interesting!

Many thanks, Brian

That's a good attitude to have. MacBU is working hard at making Entourage
more like Outlook, but it takes time. This last update involved a lot of
core changes for Intel Macs without a lot of time for features.
