Migrating form NT server site to 2003 server site

My initial questions re: using FP2000 with FPSE 2002 wan answered, "yes.

Follow up question: Do I need any migration issues to get the web site
transferred to the new server?

If copy the home directory for the site to the new server and change
the IIS web site properties to point to it will it work?

The home directory on on the old server is on d:/somefolder.
Some other documents are in web shared folders, e.g.
d:/someWebDocFolder. I store backend Access databases in a dedicated
folder, e.g. d:/someDBfolder. The site consists of static pages and
classic ASP pages. Some of the ASP pages connect to the Access DB files.
I use FPSE extensions, but I only use shared borders from the various
components. And i use FP to upload or edit pages to the site (fpweb). I
have set FP web permissions for web authors for the site (FP web) and on
FP subweb.

I understand that I will need to do the following:
Transfer the site home directory and point to it.
Transfer the related folders to the new server.
Web share the web shared folders
Change connection strings in ASP pages connecting to DB files
Install the apropriate JETSQL MDAC.
Set the appropriate IUSER permissions on the DB folder.

Does this sound right? Any other issues?

I am not clear what is going to happen with the FP web author
permissions. I hope I am not locked out. Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

I have an intranet web site running on NT4 (iis4) which is frontopage
enable with Fonpage server extnsions. We use FP 2000 for authoring and
uploading pages to the site.

We will replace the NT server with a 2003 windows server, which (I
think) comes with FP Server extsions 2002.

Can we use FP 2000 wih FPSE 2002 or do we need to upgrade FP?

Thanks in advance.

No, or probably not. The _vti* folders in a FrontPage web are unique
to each server, and never copied between webs.

Transfer the site home directory and point to it.

Enable FrontPage extensions and ASP in IIS. (See Jon Spivey's post)

Create a virtual server for your new web, or create a new folder and
point the default website to it (Use IIS MMC)
Install and configure FrontPage extensions on this server.
Use FrontPage to HTTP Publish the old web to the new server
Transfer the related folders to the new server.
Web share the web shared fold
Change connection strings in ASP pages connecting to DB files
Install the apropriate JETSQL MDAC.
Set the appropriate IUSER permissions on the DB folder.

Permissions are never copied between servers. You will have to set up
users, authors etc. again.
