Migrating from Outlook 2000 (Windows) to Entourage on system X

Has anyone done this migration ? I have 585 MB worth of email and contact
information that I need to migrate. Apple's migration document suggests
emailing the individual items to myself through a third account. I'd rather
put bamboo shoots under my fingernails.

There was a discussion about exporting Outlook info to Outlook Express,
reading the data into Outlook Express on the Mac under System 9, and then
doing a migration from Outlook Express to Entourage using the built in
tools. Anyone tried this ? Any chance of this working ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Tom!

If you can afford the wait, the Entourage X Exchange update will allow you
to connect to the same Exchange account. You wouldn't need to export/import
anything. It is slated to be released sometime this Summer.

Otherwise, you can reference the FAQs at the MVP website
http://entourage.mvps.org. I believe it can help you.

Please keep in mind that if you transition to Entourage now, you'll lose the
calendaring and scheduling functions that are supported by the Exchange
server.

Hope this helps! bill

Thanks. I don't use exchange server, I use a POP3 mail server and store my
messages locally. I suppose that's why I have 585 MB of cr*p.

I'll check out the site as suggested.
