Migrating to a new Server

What are the steps involved in migrating a Project Server 2003 installation
from one Windows Server 2003 to another?

I set up the new server and followed the installation guide for a clean
install. Everything worked great. Then I tried to migrate the Data using
SQL Server migration wizard. Migrated the databases ProjectServer and
STS_<compname>_<idnum>. This caused numerous errors and caused the new
installation to fail. Thanks for any tips.

To move the database follow these articles:

How to move the databases that are used by Windows SharePoint Services and
by Project Server 2003 to a computer that is running SQL Server
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905386/

How to back up, schedule, and restore a Microsoft Project Server database
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323330/

Hope that will help.

This is great information, thanks!

I just have an additional question to this please.
If a disaster occurs, we would like to have our Production Server fail over
to our Test server and we will be using the information from the links that
you listed. However, the SharePoint Services Configuration, the SharePoint
Services Content and the Project Server 2003 databases have the same name.
The only differences will be the Servers names (Project Server 2003 and the
SQL server, test and prod).

Is there a special consideration that we should have when migrating from one
server to another?

Thanks!!
