Migration from Project Server 2002 to 2003

Hello Everyone,

We're installing a "parallel" 2003 Project Server along with our 2002
Project Server, trying to setup the 2003 environment the right way by
defining enterprise resource pool memberships/priviledges, resource break
down structure, and synchronization with AD.

The new server is "in place" and working. I'm OK with unpublish from the
old server and then publish to the new server, even if it tedious.

Backing up the database & then restoring it to the new server is not
desired. We really want to clean up the environment as we move the projects
from old to new.

If anyone has some alternatives I would like to hear them.

Thanks!!!!

Hello,

Read some of the previous posts and wanted to add some more information.

The new Project Server is a medium scale installation with 3 different
computers hosting SQL, WSS, and Project Server Components.

The old Project Server has everything installed upon it *EXCEPT* SQL Server.
Another computer is hosting the SQL databases.

Just trying to "clean up" the old Project Server by carefully importing
projects into the new environment. There are 40-50 projects currently
published to "old". Not looking for easy way to do this just some thoughts
on alternatives (if any) and some potential down falls to avoid during the
migration.
