Migration of formulas between DEV1 and DEV2 instances of MSPS 2007

We have several custom fields using formula's in a DEV1 environment. We have
a second environment, DEV2, configured to connect with a financial package
(DSL) using a Microsoft developed connector.

We wish to move the fields (and views) in DEV1 to DEV2. When we run playbook
we get error message '09:54:09 : WARNING: View CW Team Members Reports
uses non-backed-up custom field Estimate Hours Remaining. This view will not
be backed up.' for each field with formula.

I have seen some blog indication that playbook might not handle custom
fileds with formulas well but no recommended solution or workaround.

Seems to me that a lot of us must: a) use custom fields with formulas and b)
use the practise of working on a DEV environment then STAGE then PROD. So I
conclude that I am not the first to surface this issue.

Can anyone point me in a fruitful direction?

Thanks,

Are you doing a full item backup, or just cherrypicking specific items to
backup? Sometimes there are dependencies built in that hamper running Playbooks.
For instance, to get views, you also have to get all of the security categories
and fields.

Also have you modified the Published Database in any way?

For what it's worth, here's a blog post I did a while back on Playbooks:

It doesn't necessarily address your question, but may be helpful.

Andrew - we do reference other fields within formula's as mentioned in your
blog. I'll try to temp remove those and see if that remedies the problem.
