Minimize outlook to taskbar does not work

D

Doekoe

On one of our client computers Outlook 2003 will not mimize to
taskbar. Strange here is that I can NOT uncheck the option minimize to
tray, it wil remain checked. I deinstalled office 2003 an reinstalled
it, but it does not work at all. I tried to uncheck by altering the
registry DWORD, but this does not work either.

Does somebody know what can be done to resolve this?

Thanks,

Dirk

Export the Office\Outlook key and then delete it from the registry.
Start Outlook again and have repair have its way

It shouldn't minimize to tray now anymore and you should be able to toggle
the option.

I loged on as a different user. I configured Outlook. The problem did
not occur here. I could toggle the option Hide when Mimized. So there
must be something user related in stead of machine related. But I have
still not an idea what is wrong.

Are you using roaming profiles? Does it occur when the same user logs on to

Hi Robert,
I loged on to another computer with this user and I configured
outlook. I have here the same problem now. I have never seen this
before. So it has nothing to do with registry settings on a specific
machine. I checked in AD if a roaming profile was used, but this is
not. I checked on the machine and here the profile says Local.

Any ideas left?

Hi Robert,
Problem solved. There was a policy that caused this. My collegue was
testing a new policy for Terminal Service users and test it with this
user, which I did not know.
