Minimizing an Excel screen

C

I have a worbook that will not minimize when you press the proper button
(to the left of the close button) in the title bar. No matter what I
try, I can not get this to appear in a smaller screen. I am able to
close and send it to my lower toolbar. However, I would like to shrink
the size and so I can open another application and be able to see both
on my screen at the same time. I did test other workbooks, and I was
able to shrink them as desired.

Any suggestions on how I can fix this or answers as to why this has
occurred.? Thanks.

The Window Control Button immediately to the left of the close button
(X) is the Maximize/Restore button. Clicking on that button does not
guarantee that the window will get smaller.

I would suggest that you look at the icon and see if the icon changes
from a picture that shows a single window to an icon that shows a
picture of a double window when you click on it.

If you see a single window you will notice diagonal lines at the lower
right corner of the display that will allow you to resize the display
by hovering over it with the mouse until you have a double headed
arrow and then clicking and dragging. After re sizing the window the
Maximize/Restore button should change from Maximized to your Restored
or (perhaps) smaller size.

This is the way it should work. If the icon does not change or you do
not see the diagonal lines at the lower right side of the display
perhaps you have other problems.
