Mirroring Project Data in MS Access

Giganews

I would like to have task Name, Start, and Finish data in a Project Standard
2002 file dynamically linked to an MS Access database table. But I only
want to enter data once in MS Project such that every time I add a new task
or change a schedule date value in Project, the up-to-date Project data will
automatically trickle down into MS Access.

What's the best way to do this?

P.S. I also plan on getting SQL Server 2000. Is SQL Server better suited
for this application than MS Access? Will it maintain the linkages more
reliably?

Have you investigated saving your Project files as an
Access database file? That may be the best option. IIRC
there is a help file on the Project CD called PROJDB.HTM,
which may be of some use to you.

From my experiences linking files generally isn't a good
idea, since it can easily lead to corruption and a handful
of other headaches.
