Miscellaneous Data never gets communicated

Geminiguy

I am running Groove 2007 client. For some mysterious reason, I see a
gradual build of the size of "Micellaneous Communication" data that
never seems to get communicated. It always builds in size and never
goes down or goes away. Does anyone know the reason for this? Is
there something on my client that is not being synch'ed with my other
workspaces?

I'd appreciate any help here.

Hi Geminiguy,

I feel your pain.
Almost everynody has that.
I'm looking at my machine now and its 1,77MB
Why this happens I'm not sure. But trust me all data is or has been sent/
received.

To solve this problem do the following:

- Exit Groove completely (rightclick the systray icon and click "Exit")
- Make sure there are no Groove processes running (check for GROOVE.EXE
and GrooveMonitor.exe in
the processes tab of Task Manager)
- Open a commandprompt and go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office12
- type:
grooveclean.exe
- startup Groove and no more Micellaneous Communication for now.

You will not lose any data if you use this command line tool.

see ya

Jeroen...

Thank you for answering. It seems like there are lots of Groove-
related questions that go out into the Internet-Ether without
answers. Thanks for taking the time.

Although I agree that I seem to have my workspace data sychnronized,
technically, how do I know this *miscellaneous* information is
sent? What indicators do you have? Is there a definition out
there for what *miscellaneous* information my client is storing?

I'm hoping that Ashok or one of his colleauges there at MS can respond
about just what this information really is.

Seems to me that I am indeed destroying something if I have to run
Grooveclean on my workstation. It seems like an awfully destructive
way to resolve those mysterious "micellaneous[sp]" bytes without
knowing what it really is. What am I really deleting from my
laptop???
