Misconfiguration?

I have exchange 2000 on a windows 2000 server. Whenever a
user tries to save a contact in Outlook (Xp or 97) the
changes or creation won't keep. If I use OWA, I can
create a contact and it can be saved. I'm guessing there
is a misconfiguration in Outlook but I don't know what it
is. The same holds true for trying to make a calendar
entry. Any ideas?
