Miss a page in page numbering sequence

I have simple page numbering in my document, but now need to insert a page
that doesn't get counted in the page numbering sequence. For example, the
first section might end at page 6, then I start a new section (one page long)
with no page numbering, then I need the next page (in a new section) to start
at page 7 (not page 8) - essentially ignoring the page that has no page
numbering. I have tried forcing this new section to start at page 7, but if
additional pages are inserted in the first section, the thrid section in the
scenario above continues to start at page 7 rather than increasing. Any
ideas on how to get around this?

Rather than starting the page numbering in the third section at 7, try
subtracting 1 from the page number.

Insert a field by pressing Ctrl+F9, then inside the curly brackets ("{" and
"}"), type "=", insert a page number field then type "-1". The toggled
field/s should look like this:

{ ={ PAGE }-1 }

Note that you _must_ insert the curly brackets using Ctrl+F9 or it will not
work.

When you toggle the field codes back, you should see the result that you
desire; e.g. the number on the eighth page should be "7", on the ninth it
should be "8", etc.
