missing cd key

I purchased office xp for my new computer because I
realized I didn't have ACCESS, and I couldn't upgrade my
old one becasue I didn't have the cdkey for the previous
office 2000 professional upgrade....I have on my new
computer office xp for the student...how
stupid...everyone told me to buy it because it was the
same as standard, but less money....now I am stuck with a
$300 program I can't use, and can't get ACCESS. Please
help!!!

And you didn't think to check what the Standard package contained?! It's
Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint - it has *NEVER* contained Access.

Oh if you paid $300 for it you were well and truly done. The STE doesn't
cost more than $110.

What does the CD key have to do with upgrading?! You don't need it. All you
needed to do was to purchase the Professional upgrade (that's the one with
Access, by the way) and insert the 2000 CD when it asked.

Guess you're $300 out of pocket for nothing, huh?
