Missing chart

I have a worksheet in which was a pie chart chart produced
from data on the sheet. The chart has now disappeared and
Excel will not allow me to produce another chart on this
sheet, it will only produce a chart on a new sheet.
However if I copy the original sheet and paste into a new
workbook, the chart re-appears. Does anyone know what is
going on ?

Don -

Select Options on the Tool menu, and click on the View tab. Make sure
under Objects, the Show All option is selected.
