Missing Checkmarks in Outlook 07

J

Jorge Cervantes

I recently upgraded from Office 03 to Office 07.
In Outlook 03, there are checkboxes in calendar.
But I don't see any checkboxes in Outlook 07.
Check boxes are very convenient to use.
How can I retrieve the checkboxes? Jorge

Under calendar view, we used to write in the rows (at certain time) of
appointment and events.
Whenever something is written there, we see a small box with a check mark.
When the appointments and events were completed, I uncheck the box.
I thought that this is a very convenient feature for 2003 and 97 Outlook.
But I could not figure out how to enable those check boxes. Jorge,

I'm not sure what check boxes you are talking about - what view did you
use and what did you use the checkboxes for?

Upload a screen shot to one of the many image-hosting web sites and then
post a URL to that image. There is no "Calendar view" except for the
Navigation Pane, and then the calendar itself will have a view. What view
is that?

Brian,

It was an error due to my fading memory because my computers were already
loaded with Office 07 a few days ago.
I meant "bell" and "recurrence" icons in front of the description of
appointments/events.
These two icons were not seen in Outlook 07. How can I bring back those in
Outlook07.
Secondly, the appointment/events were completed, those description changed
from bold into normal font.
That change does not happen to Outlook 07.
Those are my intended questions. Jorge

As far as the bell (reminder) icon is concerned, you don't. It was removed,
as was the attendee icon. The recurrence icon remains, I believe, but I'm
not at my OL 2007 system to check.
Secondly, the appointment/events were completed, those description changed

WHere did you see these bold/normal font changes? In which view?
Typically, in a table view, bold meand "unread". In the Date Navigator (the
small monthly calendars in the Calendar view of the Navigation Pane", dates
are in bold when an item on that date is marked "Busy" or "Out of the
Office". Events in the calendar have no "complete" attribute. Tasks,
however, do.

When I started to use Outlook, I am having a lot of questions.
I am getting confused.
Sorry about my shaky memory.

Again, in the past, the events/appointment was completed (with OL 03), I
uncheck the check mark in front of the reminder.
I do not see similar one like Reminder in OL 07.
When an appointment was completed, what should I do with OL 07 to avoid
reminding me again?

I see. You're opening the event and turning off the reminder. Outlook 2007
and prior versions both have that. For Outlook 2007, on the Appointments
tab, the Options group contains the Reminder list. Enable or disable the
reminder there.
When an appointment was completed, what should I do with OL 07 to avoid
reminding me again?

Non-recurring appointments will remind you only once. When the reminder
appears, click Dismiss. Recurring appointments will remind you each time
they recur. Again, click Dismiss when the reminder appears.
