missing connectors

I am working on an existing visio process sheet and have problems with the
connectors.
I dont know the version of the sheet I am working in, but I am using Visio
2003.
When I try to connect a pipe to a vessel, the red square for connecting does
not appear.
It is only possible to connect the pipe to the centre of the vessel, but
when I move the vessel afterwards, the pipe disconnects.
When I open a new sheet, everything works fine.

I hope someone can help me, otherwise I will have to redraw the whole sheet.

With a new diagram, menu Tools -> Snap & Glue
make a note of all the settings (General and Advanced tab)
Go to your faulty diagram
Check.

Check Tools > Snap & Glue, and make sure that Shape Geometry is selected for
snapping and gluing options.
