Missing Context Menu

For some reason, the context menus are blank. Moreover, when I open the
shapesheet, the top toolbar (with File, Edit, etc.) goes blank. I tried
resetting the toolbars under "Customize", but this didn't help either.

That's what context menus do, when a certain menu item is
inappropriate then the menu is greyed out.
When you edit the shapesheet those menu are not used, if you go back
to the drawing then the menus will return.

Paul, that's not what's going on. For example, if I right-click on a shape,
it should show Show ShapeSheet, Cut, Copy, etc., but the context menu window
is very narrow and has no text. I can choose "Show ShapeSheet" by moving the
cursor to where that entry should be and left-clicking, but it's very
inconvenient. For example, when I want to add a line to the shape, I have to
go down a long list to figure out which of the (blank) lines does so -- thank
goodness for ctrl-z to undo the wrong entries!

Ah, right, sorry Mike, I understand now.

Do you have the latest drivers for your video card?
Also, try reducing any hardware acceleration used by your video
hardware.

Actually, Paul, I think that the problem has to do with my uninstalling
Office 2003 and installing Office 2007. I'll bet that some hooks were messed
up. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Visio and that solved the problem.

Marvellous. Good news.
