Missing CSCONFIG.OCX

B

Bill

I have just transferred a database to a new computer. An
error message says that there is a missing or broken
reference to the file 'CSCONFIG.OCX' version 1.0.
Further, the cybermedia Config OLE Control module is
missing. If I remove the check, the database appears to
function correctly.

What is the best remedy? Should I uninstall and
reinstall Access 2003? How can I determine if the
missing module is critical to the database? Any
suggestions would be most welcome.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Access will not fix the
problem.

That file 'CSCONFIG.OCX' is a 3rd Party ActiveX Control.
Your database may appear to work correctly, but once it
actually comes to a point of needing the control you'll
experience wierd problems.

The easiest thing to do would be a file search for
the "csconfig.ocx" and copy it to your new computer in the
same path you found it. This may, or may not, violate the
end user license aggreement that the control was a part of
originally, but that's up to you.
