Thank you for your repliies. I don't recall if I simply opened the pst file,
or did an import, when I got our previous new machine (which would have been
when my emails stopped on the pst file I have been backing up). I think you
got it right about not getting the current file, though - I have backups of
what I thought was the Outlook.pst file, and they are all the same size over
the past year. Unfortunately, I won't be able to access the current version
until the computer comes back from repairs. This really makes my blood boil
- it's such an important file, yet Microsoft chooses to make it HIDDEN? Why?
I consider myself a pretty experienced user, yet despite my extensive
efforts at backing up my files, and thinking that I was indeed doing so, I am
in fact left with no backups. This is extremely frustrating, and adds fuel
to the fire of Microsoft arrogance.
Thank you again for your replies and assistance.

Are you sure it is the most recent .pst and not the archived .pst? .pst
files are hidden so if you copied the one you saw (archived) it is not the
latest. turn on searching hidden/system files and search your old computer
again.

After scratching one's head,

| This has happened twice - I transferred the .pst file (actually both
| mine and my wife's) to a new machine. When I open the Inbox, we are
| missing the most recent one year (my wife's) or two and a half years
| of emails. Everything else (calendar, contacts, etc.) appears to be
| intact. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
