Swflash.doc is not a file used by Word. Try starting Word using the /a
switch and see if the error still occurs. Go to Start/Run and run:
winword /a
Note the space before the forward slash.
If the error does not occur then chances are the problem is due to a
global template/add-in. Take a look under Tools/Templates and Add-ins
and see if there are any global templates/add-in. If so then go to
Tools/Options/File Locations and note the location of the Startup
folder. Word also utilizes the Office\Startup folder for loading
global templates. The location of the Office\Startup folder is in the
installation path for Office. You can also use Windows Search to
locate the file.
Exit Word and locate the Startup folders and see if you find any
files. If more than one, move them one at a time and try duplicating
the error in Word after each file is moved out of the folder until you
determine which one is causing the problem.
