Missing folder in archive

I have started a new archive for this calender year. The newly created
archive doesn't show my "Inbox" folder, although the messages have been
removed from the original folder after archiving.

I've checked the setup to see that my inbox archive settings are set to the
default settings, so it's not that.

Questions:
1. Is the folder name with contents written to the archive.pst file? Which
means that if I don't see Inbox in the archive folder the Inbox data is
somewhere else?
2. Any ideas where this data may have gone?
