Missing folders in dialog box directory

All of the shortcut folders that I have located on my desktop do not show
when I do a "Save As" and point to the desktop to locate the folder. Is
there a setting somewhere that will allow me to see shortcut folders in the
directory list in a dialog box?

I do not want to add to the "MyPlaces" bar because I have over 15+ shortcut
locations that point to different folder locations on our network.

They would appear in the listing after the files as they are not folders
but "lnk" files.

They aren't listed. It actually was a different setting on our network. Yes,
strange, I know. Thanks for your help, though.
