Missing Fonts - How do I get them back?

Hi - I have Word 2000 (9.0.6926 SP-3). installed including all the available
updates for it from the MS Office Update website. This version of Word is
part of Works Suite 2001. My PC is running XP Pro SP1.

I don't know what or when it happened, but the huge number of fonts I used
to have available are gone. There are only a couple dozen available now. I
can only remember the name of one of the fonts. It's called "Andy".

I uninstalled Word, reinstalled it, and the Office Updates. No joy.

How can I reinstall the missing fonts?

Yes, it's a networked printer and has been set up as a networked printer
before this problem occured. I just checked the Windows/Fonts folder. The
"missing" fonts are there. For some reason Word is not "seeing" them.

Do I have to re-register the fonts? If so, how do I do that?

I also have Word Perfect 8 installed, and WP8 also could not "see" all the
fonts. I posted the same problem on the Word Perfect 8 newsgroup, and
someone mentioned that I should install and run Bitstream Font Navigator
which is on the Word Perfect installation CD.

Bitstream Font Navigator did the trick. I'm not sure what it actually did,
but I ran it, and nearly 300 fonts are available in MS Word as well as Word
Perfect.
