missing fonts in pull-down menu of toolbar

Alex the not too dim guy vine

I'm running win98 with office XP. The font's just don't
list in the tool bar menu, but they are there in the font
window popup. My documents don't display correctly. My
fonts are installed correctly, (done it about a half-dozen
or so times). If I delete ShellconCache from the windows
directory and re-boot, the list re-appears briefly then
woosh! gone.......

Any Ideas?
