missing fonts

I have fonts in my font file on my system that do not show up in my font drop
down box in publisher 2007. They were there at one time then seem to have
disappeared. Does anyone know how to get them back into publisher so I can
use them again?

Do these same fonts show up in other
apps like WordPad, Notepad, etc...?

I figured it out! Go to format, font and take the check mark OFF of the "show
only web fonts" box. Apply then they will show up!

Are we talking 2 or 3 fonts or most of them?

Are you working on a print publication or a
web publication?

If...web publication...try going to...Format / Font...
uncheck...Show only web fonts / Apply . OK.

Actually...not working in WordPad or Notepad
would indicate to me that you have an issue
with the fonts themselves. I wonder if rebooting
your computer or possibly running Disk Cleanup
to rid yourself of temp files would help?

And if you use non web friendly fonts in a web publication or an email
newsletter, you will have problems. Google "web friendly fonts" for more
information.

thanks to all for the responses

My file is for printing. there is more than one font missing and it is
missing all variations of some of the fonts. Ie Bold, Bold italic, etc. My
Arial Black font disappeared and I only have Arial Italic in my drop down box
and I can't change it to non-italicized.

In format, font in publisher, I do not have a box that says "show only web
fonts". I presume you meant in Publisher? Should I have that box???
Is there someplace else I should be looking?

Yes...in Publisher.

It only shows up when you are
creating a Web Publication.
So....your issue is unrelated.

Thanks Mary for the solution to my Arial Black problem. I did as you said and
it works. GREAT!

Now if only I could find out how to get the rest of my fonts to become
accessable in publisher I would be a happy camper. If anyone else has any
suggestions on how to display all of my fonts in Publisher, I would
appreciate anything anyone can suggest.

As earlier discussed if you are working on a web page only eleven web friendly
fonts will be available unless you Format, Fonts, uncheck the box.

Are you using a font manager? Many times the fonts will lose their association
and will not show up in the font list when you are using a font manager.

Not all Office fonts are installed by default.
Fonts that are installed with 2007 Office suites and 2007 Office programs

Have you tried Office Diagnostics? It is in the help menu.
