Missing Headers

R

Ray

I have documents created in Word 97 and 2000 that have
headers, but when I give them to someone to view or print
in Word 2002, the headers are not there. They aren't
visible on the scren and they don't print.

Suggestions?

Hi Ray,

What do the headers contain? Just text, or tables, or
graphics, or...?

Are you sure people are actually OPENING the documents, and
not using Insert/File or some kind of VBA that's dropping
the last paragraph mark (where headers are stored)?

Thanks for the response Cindy,

I've been away, not sure if you're still following this
thread. If so, the answers to your questions are: It
contains Text, a graphic and lines.

Yes, the documents are actually being opened in 2000 (I've
tried it myself on several machines thinking it was the
result of some setting that may be different machine to
machine.

I've been told that it's because the file was created from
a template, you have to have that template stored on the
machine you are opening it on. I know that's not true.
We may just end up creating it new in 2000.
