Missing hours in PWA webpart My tasks

Hello,

we use Project Server 2007, SP2 and we have the following problem:

Our team members enter the hours on the PWA webpart My tasks, they save the
hours and at the end of the week they submit them. When they open the webpart
again it may occur that part of the data are missing. Not all hours are
missing and not on all days, so they have instead of 7 hours per day only 4
or 3 for example. We can't reproduce it and the hours obviously don't get
into the 'normal' database.

The main striking points are that this problem concerns only some of the
team members and is restricted to some projects (but not all tasks of that
project and not with every submission of the hours).

We have looked at the task update history and there is only a note that the
update has been accepted but without any hours given below.

Has anyone seen this kind of problem? We already opened a call with
Microsoft but so far we didn't get any help - so any further tipps or help
would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Nicola,
I personally have not experienced this issue before, but that doesn't mean
it doesn't happen Since this behavior is not repeatable and seem to be
working some times but not other times here are a couple of questions:
- Have you checked the queue and event log error of the server to see if you
have any errors?
- does this issue only happen with a particular project and if so can you
identify the actual task where it happens?
- same with the resource, is it only one resource on a project or more
resources on more projects where this happens?
Lets try to find out why this occurs.

many thanks for your help. To answer your questions:

- I've checked the queue - no errors
- It happens with several projects, but not with all (but I cannot say if
there is a reason why this errors occurs only with some projects, perhaps it
is only a coincidence)
- Several tasks per project are concerned, but not all
- Several team members are concerned, some not (at least they are not
concerned so far)

I tried to find a common "property" for the projects, tasks and resources
where we found the problem but we couldn't find one yet.

Another question: When the team member saves the data in Project Web Access
- where does Project Server save the corresponding data before they are
submitted?

Hello!

I have an additional fact to add:

- The task or the project alone cannot be the cause for the failed
submission, when we enter the actual hours a second time and click the submit
button the submission is often okay. So the error does not occur every time,
only sometimes.

- Some projects are concerned more often than others, some are never
concerned. It is often the case that the error occurs in the same tasks,
other tasks in the same project with the same assigned resource are not
concerned even if the hours are submitted at the same time.

Any ideas?
