Missing Images after edits -

P

Paul

I have slowly built our webpage (www.integrated-robotics.com) up and am
constantly editing various pages based on what is going on with events and
such.

Frequently editing a page causes images to dissapear:

I have used (admittetedly newbe-esque) word art for a page headder. This
includes a background image that comes through the letters. After editing
the page this image occasionally dissapears. If I look at the properties of
the element (word-art) the refrence is still there- pointing to the image, if
I look in the proper folder on the site (live) the image is there, and other
pages on the site ARE shoeing the image - I typically have to go find the
image locally, re insert it and then Save (to the live site)

I also had a GIF file - backgound footer that included- well footer info,
this also has dissappeared - if I look at the page properties - it is listed
but it does not show up.

It seems this is happening to other people - but I have not found a reason....

Since I do this work after hours - and seemingly during my last save of the
night - I ether do not do one final check of the live site (from another
computer) or find that this has happened and do not have the energy and time
to fight with it any longer. This issue along with FrontPages desire to keep
renaming buttons the same name throughout the site makes me spend too much
time repairing - and not editing oe adding content.

Anyway - if anyone can explain what I am doing wrong (other than you should
not FrontPage to do this or do that) let me know.
As far as I am concerned if it is a FrontPage feature - it should work.

Don't use Wordart, it will only work in IE and Firefox (and frankly it
doesn't look too good in Firefox). Convert it to a gif image instead (or
jpg). In your case a jpg would be the best choice.

Word Art does not work at all in FireFox. A down-level, low quality,
..gif image is produced (if FP is set to produce it) that is displayed
in other browsers, including FireFox.
