Missing issue link from Sharepoint to project server tasks

I received following problem report from a project manager. Can anyone shed
some lights on it. Thank you in advance...
There’s a nifty integration feature between MS Share Point and MS Project
Server: You can link a Share Point issue to a Project task to indicate that
the task will resolve the issue. I linked some and discovered that some of
the ones I linked last week were gone. In the time between, I did make some
changes to the project plan... I added some new tasks and, of course, there
was new time recorded against some of the linked tasks, but the linked tasks
were not otherwise altered and I did not delete the links. I’m not sure that
SP recognizes that PS task numbers change over time and it might be related
to this. The PS task numbers I see from SP this week are not the same as the
ones shown last week. It appears that the Microsoft person who built this
integration didn’t take into consideration that Project tasks have dynamic
numbering.

Or at least, it would be nifty if it didn’t lose track of the links after
they’re built.
