Missing Links in Access Help screens

Office 2000 running on Win XP; In many help screens,
buttons to other parts of Access help system are simply
squares, they don't work; and some hyperlinks don't
function either.

How to fix?

I tried this, seems to be working. But there are some
blue words in various help screens that do not go
anywhere, but many that do. I have Win2000 SP4 on my
machine; the PC that prompted this inquiry is WinXP, but
seems to work the same way - most blue words or other
objects do work, but some don't, mostly single blue words.

Is this another issue, or are some words that look like
links actually just made that color for emphasis?

Thanks

Hello,

I am having a very similar problem with Access 2000 on XP Home SP1, and
according to the critical updates website I have update 811630 installed.
However, when I look at the file attributes for all the files they are OK
except for the "HH.exe" and "ITSS.dll". These two files have all the right
attributes including size and version, but not the date and time. They are
older than the article mentions. How could that be and could that be my
problem?

It is like you need to install the critical update in:

The other files are either all correct or even later versions or dates.

I got confused with the colours as well but I think the bright blue words
are the links; purple words are links that you recently looked at; and the
grey words are disabled links, i.e. nothing to go to. IIRC, green words
have definitions that you can get if you click on the words.

All of the blue words in my AXP Help seem to work after I applied the patch
I mentioned previously.

Sorry, no ideas.

I applied the patch but didn't look at the file dates. However, the patch
fixed the problems in my Access XP Help.

I downloaded and applied the 811630 patch again and have the same problem
still. Many "blue words" and "purple words" simply do not bring up
anything.

For example, open help using F1. Go to the Contents tab, click on "working
with queries", click on "open or run a query". Now, in the text to the
right click on the blue words and none of them take you anywhere. Click on
the subjects under "What do you want to do?" and they all go somewhere.

How can I fix this?

Normally, I use left click rather than right-click.

You may need to repair your Access installation using Control Panel /
Add-Remove Programs...

Apparently a misunderstanding. I did not right click, what I meant was "in
the text to the right", then "click on the blue words".

Well, I did a "Repair" and the same thing still occurs. Can you check on
your end and using the example I gave below, see if the same thing happens
on your copy?
